Our Story: Why We Built 2.0
Every business has an origin story. Ours begins with two very different career paths that ultimately led to the same conclusion: recruitment needed a reset.
For Nicola, recruitment was home for many years. She built her own agency from scratch, grew it into something respected, and sold it on to a larger firm. On paper, it was a success story. But behind the scenes, the industry’s relentless pace and pressure took its toll. Earlier this year, she stepped away, her health, burnout, and frustration forcing her to draw a line.
That pause became a turning point. Retraining as a coach and mentor, Nicola discovered a new passion: helping recruiters, leaders, and professionals find clarity, confidence, and direction. But even while coaching, her heart never fully left recruitment. She still believed in what it could be if done properly honest, human, long-term, not just transactional.
Paul’s career, meanwhile, has been about business transformation. Working across leadership, advisory, and consultancy roles, he’s guided both small independents and large organisations through rocky waters, times of change, and ambitious growth. From organic expansion to acquisition, one truth always stood out: everything comes down to people. Strategy means nothing if you don’t get the people part right.
When we started talking about what could come next, the pieces fell into place. Nicola’s lived experience in recruitment and coaching. Paul’s strategic insight into business growth and transformation. Both of us driven by a shared belief: businesses and individuals deserve something better than recruitment as usual.
That’s how 2.0 was born.
It’s not just another agency. It’s recruitment, coaching, and consultancy brought together in a holistic way designed to help people and businesses not just survive, but thrive. We’ve both seen the gaps, the broken systems, and the missed opportunities. Now, we want to fill those gaps, fix what’s broken, and set a new standard.
2.0 is more than a name. It’s a statement: that the industry is ready for its next chapter. And we’re here to write it.
