Paul's Story

My career has always centred around helping businesses grow. Sometimes through stability in tough times, sometimes through bold moves in periods of opportunity. I’ve worked across senior leadership and advisory roles, supporting both small independents and large organisations as they’ve navigated challenges, change, and accelerated growth.

What I’ve learned is this: whether it’s organic expansion, acquisition, or steering through rocky waters, success always comes down to people. Get the right leaders in place, nurture the right culture, and the rest follows. Get it wrong, and no strategy will save you.

When Nicola and I started talking about building something new together, it just made sense. I’d watched her journey — the grit it took to build her business, the resilience it took to walk away when she needed to, and the passion that brought her back. And I recognised that our experiences complemented each other.

She brings the lived experience of being in the recruitment trenches, building from scratch, and coaching individuals to thrive. I bring the strategic, business-side perspective — understanding what organisations need when they’re scaling, restructuring, or navigating uncertainty.

Together, that combination felt powerful.

2.0 isn’t about playing small. It’s about creating a model that works for businesses of all sizes, at all stages — whether you’re an independent agency making your first senior hire or a large organisation managing growth through acquisition. It’s about recruitment done properly, leaders supported holistically, and consultancy that sees the bigger picture.

For me, joining Nicola in building 2.0 is about impact. It’s about helping businesses not just survive the challenges of today, but thrive for the long term. And it’s about standing for a way of working that feels honest, human, and future-focused.

Because business, at its core, is about people. And that’s exactly what 2.0 is here to put first.
